About this Project

Mid-Halton Wastewater Treatment Plant

213,000 cubic meters of water is treated by Halton Region Waste Water Treatment Plants every day. Mattina Mechanical Limited was the mechanical subcontractor to Maple Reinders Construction (General Contractor) for the addition and renovations to the existing treatment plant to increase the plant capacity from 75 million liters per day to 125 million liters per day. MML’s scope involves mechanical plumbing, HVAC and heating piping and process upgrades to Mid-Halton’s existing facility. MML’s scope also involved complete mechanical room renovation in the North Pumping Station, new diesel fuel system, including fuel tanks for the generator in the ultraviolet disinfection (UV) building, and all process piping to connect the new primary digester.

The temporary digester gas connection was completed during a short shutdown to minimize process disruption to the existing services. Careful planning and coordination was required around existing operations so as not to disrupt ongoing operations.
